Parenting can be a difficult, but rewarding choice. There are a lot of questions that come up, some short term, and others long term. Short term questions can include worries about telling your parents, housing, education on prenatal health and labour and delivery. Elisha House offers free prenatal education classes every Wednesday from 4:30-6:30. Partners are welcome to attend with you. Our class include free dinner, transportation, and incentives. We can assist with how to talk to your parents, applying for housing and advocating with other social service agencies to ensure you are set up for success. Long term questions can include finances, and secondary or post-secondary education. We can assist with budgeting, referrals to post-secondary programs and daycare assistance.
Often people choose abortion as the solution to an unexpected pregnancy because they are scared to tell their parents, or worried that they will not have enough money. Never pick abortion because of these reasons. There are people who care about you and want to help you. You can come in anytime between 9 AM and 4 PM, Monday-Friday to talk to a confidential support worker.
